This is a cultural tour that starts or ends or goes through Kogelo, a laid back, typical African village and Barack Obama's ancestral home. This is where Barack Obama's father was born and raised. And some of the Kenyan relatives of the US president still live in this village.

6 Days - The Obama Roots (Road Package)

Day 1 - Nairobi / Maasai Mara
After breakfast depart for Masai Mara along the floor of the Great Rift Valley via Narok the only Masai town, then climb the western wall entering Hemming ways country that board Serengeti plains, arriving in Mara in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive inside the Park which is the Kenya's best and most scenic. Dinner and overnight at Mara Camp/ lodge.

Day 2 -Masai Mara.

A full day spent game viewing across the rich tree stubbed grasslands and rolling hills. The famous Mara renowned for its great herds of plain game, black manned lion, leopard and cheetah, and every type of wildlife found in Kenya. Meals and overnight at the lodge/ camp.
Day 3 - Maasai Mara - Kisumu
Early morning game drive, 6.30am to 9.30am. After breakfast leave with packed lunch to Kisumu, scenic view of tea plantations en route. Meals and overnight stay at Kiboko Bay Tented lodge or at Sunset hotel in Kisumu.
Day 4. Kisumu - Ndere Island National Park
After breakfast trek to the lake shore or the yacht club, then take a boat to Ndere Island National park. According to Luo legendary story Ndere (meeting place) is where Mikaye the mother of the Luo rested after along journey down the Nile to the Lake Victoria before reaching her home Kit - Mikaye. The day is spent in search of the lake's largest crocodiles, Hippos, monitor lizards, birds, water antelopes etc. Enjoy fishing and taste your catch for dinner. Lunch in the lake on the boat. Overnight stay at Kiboko Bay Tented lodge or at Sunset hotel in Kisumu.
Day 5. Kisumu -Kogelo Village
After breakfast, drive to Nyang'oma Kogelo is a village in Siaya District; Nyang'oma Kogelo is the ancestral home of Barak Obama Senior the father to U.S.A President Barrack Obama.
The village has a primary school and a high school named after Obama (Senator Obama Secondary School). There is also a health centre. The village is linked by road to Kisumu town. It is a typical Kenyan rural village with most residents living modestly by small-scale farming. Dinner and overnight stay at Sunset Hotel or Kiboko Bay Tented beach lodge.
Day 6. Kisumu - Nairobi

In the morning after breakfast transfer back to Nairobi by flight or by road.NB: This itinerary can be tailor made to continue to other areas of interest as per the requirement of the client.
